The Department of Social Development cordially invites the media to the 10th Anniversary of the Pniel Hope Day Care Centre on the 21 October 2011 at 11h30 in Pniel. The MEC for Social Development Mr Alvin Botes will be delivering the key note address at their anniversary.
The Day Care Centre for the Older Persons of Pniel started in a church and further developed and moved to its own premises where they are currently providing the following services:
- needlework
- abet class
- recreation for the elderly
- home-based visits to elderly and HIV/aids patients
- rendering community based services to the vulnerable etc.
The main aim of the centre is to restore the dignity and pride of the older persons and to ensure that participate in active ageing games and activities.
