MEC Ishmael Kgetjepe hands over infrastructure at Thusanang Special School on Casual Day, 4 Sept

Learners of Thusanang Special School will celebrate the Casual Day in style. They will spend the day with the MEC for Education Mr Ishmael Kgetjepe who will lead a delegation that includes top management of Education and the local municipality.

On this day, the MEC will officially open the schools’ hall, computer laboratory plus hostels for girls and boys recently completed. This is part of the infrastructure development the department is putting in place to address challenges faced by learners in special schools. Limpopo Province has 34 public special schools. Thusanang is one of the four schools in Waterberg district.

Casual Day is a South Africa’s foremost fundraising campaign for persons with disabilities. It is a flagship project of the National Council for People with Physical Disabilities in South Africa (NCPPDSA). This campaign invites all fun-loving South Africans to dress differently for a day to raise funds and awareness of persons with disabilities.
