Shilowa and MECs take imbizo to Ekurhuleni

Gauteng Premier Mbhazima Shilowa and MECs will on Wednesday, 31 May 2006,
visit various communities in Ekurhuleni as part of the provincial government's
imbizo campaign of direct interaction with residents.

The Executive Council (ExCo) plans to visit 35 communities as part of the
Gauteng Imbizo this year.

During the imbizo, government leaders will speak to residents about plans to
improve their areas and the province as a whole in the year ahead as well as
address their concerns and suggestions.

Direct dialogue and feedback from communities enables government to
streamline service delivery aimed at improving people's lives.

Government leaders will conduct walkabouts from 15h00 at the areas which
will be followed by public meetings scheduled to start at 16h00.

The venues for the public meetings are as follows:

* Premier Mbhazima Shilowa and MEC Nomvula Mokonyane: Delmore Hostel,
Delmore, Germiston
* MECs Ignatius Jacobs, Brian Hlongwa, Angie Motshekga and Khabisi Mosunkutu:
Eden Park Sports Ground, Eden Park
* MECs Kgaogelo Lekgoro, Firoz Cachalia, Qedani Mahlangu and Barbara Creecy:
Bakerton Stadium, Bakerton
