Labour Minister’s Parliamentary Budget Vote Address

Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana will on Wednesday, 17 May, deliver his
Ministerial Budget Vote in Parliament’s House of Assembly.

Among the aspects of his speech, the Minister is expected to elaborate on
the Department’s budgetary programme of action on various labour policy matters
for the coming financial year.

These will include the enhancement of the skills development drive under the
auspices of the Joint Initiative for Priority Skills Acquisition (Jipsa) as
envisaged by the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative of South Africa
(AsgiSA).

The Minister will also touch on challenges and achievements as well as plans
for various programmes including the Unemployment Insurance Fund, the
Compensation Fund and International Relations under the Department.
