African Union (AU) Summit to check progress on jobs and poverty

Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana has jetted out for the weeklong session
of AU Labour and Social Affairs Commission in Cairo, Egypt.
The summit starts tomorrow (Saturday) by evaluating the progress of the
implementation of the Ouagadougou Summit on Employment and Poverty eradication
held in September 2004.
Delegates will also look at the country reports about the Charter on the
Rights of the Child.
Minister Mdladlana, who was handed chairmanship during the April 2005 Third
Ordinary Session of the AU Labour and Social Affairs Commission in
Johannesburg, will be chairing the Ministerial Session between Tuesday and
Thursday (25 to 27 April).
