MEC for Agriculture, Conservation and Environment in the North West,
Mandlenkosi Mayisela will in the next two weeks visit all provincial districts
in a roadshow, focusing mainly on Conservation and Environment.
Mayisela will discuss Conservation and Environment related issues with
different municipalities, traditional leaders and game farmers, respectively,
in meetings that are aimed at addressing challenges faced by these parties in
this sector.
Issues on the table will include amongst others: lack of professional
hunting in the province; illegal hunting; regular game census; development of
Hazardous Waste Management plan; as well as Municipalities' compliance with the
revised Environment Impact Assessment regulations.
"We still believe that these stakeholders' contributions towards achieving
our environmental and conservational goals are of critical importance. As a
result, we need to bring each other on board to ensure that service delivery is
not hampered with or compromised. We also hope that the outcomes of these
meetings will enable us to effectively add value to the lives of our people,"
said MEC for Agriculture, Conservation and Environment in North West,
Mandlenkosi Mayisela.
MEC Mayisela will visit districts on the following dates:
Central: Tuesday, 20 July 2006
Bojanala: Wednesday, 21 July 2006
Bophirima: Tuesday, 25 July 2006
Southern: Monday, 31 July 2006
