Limpopo Education on teacher vacancies

Teacher vacancies in Limpopo

12 December 2007

The Limpopo Department of Education has issued a vacancy list No 1 Vol
5/2007, No1 VOL 3/2007, No 1 Vol 2/2007 and No 1 VOL 1/2007 to all schools just
before the schools closed on 4 December 2007. The vacancies include 3 137 CS1
posts, 1 446 Heads of Department (HODs), 568 Deputy Principals, and 193
Principals.

The Limpopo Department of Education normally receives thousands of
applications. Each application is carefully screened to make sure that the
applicant qualifies for the relevant post. After sifting, the applications are
distributed to school governing bodies and the process of short-listing and
interviews will then commence. In order to be eligible for appointment, all
applicants must have at least a recognised three-year qualification, which must
include appropriate training as a teacher. Registration with the South African
Council of Educators (SACE) is compulsory.

The running period of the vacancy list is 7 to 25 January 2008. In terms of
the management plan of the department assumption of duty of the advertised
posts will be on 1 April 2008. Furthermore, 200 posts for support staff
(administration clerks) to our schools have been advertised. District offices
will co-ordinate the filling of these posts. By the end of January 2008
successful candidates will assume duty.

These developments, especially the advertisement of 3 137 CS1 posts follows
the ground-breaking permanent absorption of 8 651 temporary educators. Once
again, the department call upon the best educators who are committed to quality
education to apply for these posts.
