Land Reform and Rural Development on media accreditation for title deed handover ceremony in Setlagole and Madibogo villages

As part of the Land Restitution Programme, government will on Friday, 29 May 2026, preside over a title deed handover ceremony in Setlagole and Madibogo villages in the Northwest Province for the upgrading of land tenure rights and the handover of title deeds to the Gaesegwe, Barolong ba ga Rapulana, and Barolong boo Phoi communal property associations.

The handover of title deeds for the upgrading of land tenure rights ensures that individual households have recognised and protected rights to land, which is essential to restoring the dignity of people whose tenure was not secured because of the racially discriminatory laws and practices of the past.

Members of the media wishing to cover the event are kindly requested to apply for accreditation. Applicants are advised to complete the attached accreditation form. The deadline for the submission of names is 12h00 on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
