Labour successfully pays out claims during Compensation Fund Outreach Campaign

Payment of claims was the order of the day during The Department of Labour’s Compensation Fund Outreach Campaign

The Compensation Fund’s Community Outreach Campaign was sealed on a high note yesterday in Viljoenskroon as payment of claims and applications were the order of the day.  Compensation Fund assisted no less than 50 clients in total.  Out of those, 2 permanent disablements were confirmed and final medical reports issued by the resident Medical Practitioner of the Department right on the spot. 

2 pension cases were processed and they will be paid R151 603.80 and R54 33485 respectively.  These payments will be once off payment which will be followed by monthly pensions for the rest of the lives of the two claimants.  An amount of R85 581.87 will be processed for permanent disablements.  The Medical Payments Unit processed and settled medical accounts for medical costs incurred by employees as a result of injury on duty claims amounting to R769 127.00.

Unemployment Insurance Fund saw 170 clients, processed applications and paid a total of R67 366.40 instantly to 10 claimants.  These were also constituted by one death benefit claim which amounted to R29 441.66 for a single individual.

The Inspection and Enforcement Services assisted a total of 35 clients.  15 of those were unreported injury on duty cases, the other 15 was for registration of employees with UIF.  3 employers were visited to complete the Declaration Form (UI19), provide the Salary Schedule and the underpayment case respectively.  All of those visited employers instantly complied with the law with the latter undertaking to pay his employee an amount of R1480 emanating from such underpayment claim.

Public Employment Services Unit assisted 46 clients with online registration of their CVs and completing of ESSA forms.

Today the campaign is in Hertzogville and will be concluded tomorrow in Hoopstad. The schedule for the hosting of this outreach campaign is as follows;
