Housing Minister Lindiwe Sisulu officially launches Eric Molobi
Housing Innovation Hub

Accompanied by members of the Molobi family, Tshwane Mayor Gwen Ramokgopa,
MECs of housing, all housing institutions and Absa bank, Minister Lindiwe
Sisulu will officially launch the Eric Molobi Housing Innovation Hub in
Thorntree, Soshanguve north of Pretoria.

Inspired by the contribution of the late Eric Molobi to housing excellence
and delivery the Innovation Hub provides a platform for different developers to
demonstrate new innovative building materials to compliment the use of bricks
and mortar.

The late Mr Molobi was the Chairman of the Government housing bank, the
National Housing Finance Corporation, in his term as the Chairperson, Mr Molobi
contributed to the development of the business model of the Corporation and
transforming the institution to a Government bank that offers affordable home
loans and support to small developers.

As part of the launch, 10 houses will be handed over to beneficiaries, 22
Engineering students will receive bursaries from The National Home Builders
Registration Council (NHBRC), and dignitaries will have an opportunity to visit
a multi functional conference centre build on site and also visit more than 20
houses already build with different building material in the innovation
hub.
