Independent Communications Authority on licence conversion

Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)
publishes notice on the completion of the licence conversion process

15 January 2009

Johannesburg - The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has
published a notice of the converted Broadcasting Services, Electronic
Communications Services, and Electronic Communications Network Services in
terms of section 93 of the Electronic Communications Act.

As spectrum licences are renewable on an annual basis, the authority has
resolved not to include those in this process as they have already been aligned
with the Act. However, the authority will include in this process those
spectrum licences which are affected by the repositioning of obligations.

The licensees are hereby notified to collect their licences from ICASA head
office or regional offices from 16 January 2009. No converted licence will be
e-mailed to licensees. A complete list of all converted licences will also be
available on the ICASA website (http://www.icasa.org.za)

The list is also available from ICASA library at the head office Block D,
PinMill Farm, 164 Katherine Street, Sandton.
