Basic Education and Training (ABET) examination results

The examination results of the 2006 matric candidates and the results of
ABET candidates will be released by the KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC, Ina
Cronje, at 09h00, on 28 December 2006, at the Royal Showgrounds in
Pietermaritzburg.
At 08h00, the head of the department, Dr Cassius Lubisi, will take the media
through a technical briefing to explain and lift out certain trends that were
picked up during the examinations.
A workroom, equipped with a telephone, a printer and a fax machine, will be
made available for the media. Although a laptop computer will be available, it
is advisable to bring your own to prevent queuing.
Journalists and photographers need to apply for media accreditation, should
they wish to attend the ceremony and media conference.
To apply for accreditation the journalist/photographer must complete the
accreditation form, which is also available on the KwaZulu-Natal Education
website: http://www.kzneducation.gov.za. The form
can be faxed on request.
The deadline for applying for accreditation is 22 December 2006. If the
editor of a publication or radio/television station is not able to name the
media representative, he or she should indicate that on the form. The
accreditation badges will be handed out at 07h45 at the gate on 28 December
2006.
