KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Ina Cronje and the top management of the
Department have expressed their shock and horror at the brutal killing of two
educators of Hlokohloko Primary School.
"We have sent our sincerest condolences to the families, friends and fellow
teachers of the deputy principal Ms SF Ntuli and head of department Ms BMP
Mthenjana. Our thoughts are with them during this very sad time."
It is alleged that the principal and chairperson of the school governing
body, as well as two other people, have been arrested in connection with the
murders.
"We have taken the necessary steps to effect the immediate suspension of
both the principal and the school governing body chairperson. In addition we
are taking steps to ensure that the school will have the necessary interim
management in place to fill the leadership vacuum that has been caused by the
incident," Cronje said.
