KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Education Ms Ina Cronje, Department Head Dr Cassius
Lubisi and senior management send their condolences to the family of
18-year-old Andile Mbeje who was stabbed to death on his way to school today
(11 March 2009). It is alleged the deceased was attacked by a fellow
schoolmate. âThis is a very sad incident indeed and my sincere condolences go
out to the Mbeje family, friends, educators and learners at Mariannridge.
The incident has been reported to the police who are investigating the
incident. Even though this incident occurred outside of school premises, as the
department we will help provide psychological counselling to the school to
assist learners with trauma debriefing,â said the MEC for Education Mrs Ina
Cronje.
