As part of ongoing Project Monitoring to ensure delivery of projects on time
to client departments and communities, North West Public Works MEC, Honourable
Howard Yawa on Monday visited the construction site for the R70 million Health
Centre in Itsoseng township near Lichtenburg.

The purpose of the project site visit was for the MEC to apprise himself of
progress in the project implementation.

“I am satisfied with local empowerment as twelve sub contractors are engaged
on the project. The quality of work is impressive and if the current pace is
maintained, the project would be delivered within the contract period. As
government we count on the continued support of the Itsoseng community to fast
track delivery of projects in the area” said an excited Yawa.

Fourteen staff houses, an emergency medical services block, a mortuary and a
guardhouse are at roof level, nearing completion.

The contractor has raised the platform for the foundation of the 24-bed
health centre and commenced with brickwork for the administration offices,
consultation rooms, wards, maternity rooms, specialised health services and a
theatre.

The project has thus far created over a hundred job opportunities for locals
who were previously unemployed.
