North West MEC for Public Works Howard Yawa is to award top performers
within the Department of Public Works at a gala evening function to be held on
Friday, 20 January 2006, at the Barolong Boo-Ratshidi Community Hall in
Montshioastadt near Mafikeng.
The objectives of the 2005/06 Inaugural MEC's Excellence Awards is to
recognise outstanding performance among employees of the Department and
motivate employees to improve the delivery of service to clients and the
general public in line with Batho Pele.
Commitment and dedication among individual employees and team effort is to
be recognised in the following categories:
* Best performing Employees within Units, Directorates and Regions
* Best Overall Performing Employee of the Department
* Best Performing Directorates
* Best Performing Region
* Best Performing Chief Directorates
* Best Performing Sporting Code.
The inaugural Awards are sponsored by Africon, ABSA, Entourage Events &
Travel, Mr T Group of Companies and Rustenburg Travel.
MEC Yawa is to also use the occasion to recognise employees who have served
more than 20 years in the public service.
