In commemoration of Women’s Month, the Premier of the Free State, MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae will on Friday, 30 August 2024, lead a Provincial Women’s Dialogue in Botshabelo, Free State.
The purpose of the dialogue is aimed mainly at discussing issues of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), while also assessing the strides made concerning women’s emancipation and development, and creating a platform for women from various sectors of society to elevate their issues to enable government to respond with multiple interventions to be implemented, in creation of an equitable society for women.
Convened under the Women’s Month banner of “Celebrating 30 years of democracy towards women’s development”, the dialogue is convened, equally, in the spirit of and tribute towards heroic women, who continue to pave the way for gender equality and empowerment in a democratic South Africa.
Leading up to the main event, the Free State Provincial Government (FSPG) will further take integrated government services to different areas within the community of Botshabelo.

Furthermore, the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment, is central to our efforts to combat poverty and stimulate sustainable development”, said Premier MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae.
