Gauteng honours liberation stalwart Sam Ntuli, 20 Oct

Gauteng Premier David Makhura will lead a 3-phased programme in Thokoza on Monday to honour former anti-apartheid stalwart and civic activist, Sam Ntuli.

The event is expected to be attended by a number of significant figures in the country’s struggle against apartheid, including former Joburg Executive Mayor Amos Masondo who is expected to deliver the inaugural Sam Ntuli Memorial Lecture in the later part of the programme.

Proceedings will start at 8:00am at the Schoeman’s Cemetery, where Premier Makhura will declare Ntuli’s grave a provincial heritage site. This will be followed by the unveiling of the commemorative boulder at the spot where Ntuli was assassinated at Khumalo Street, Thokoza.
