The Gauteng Department of Housing will host a two-day Provincial Housing
Summit in Ekurhuleni.
The summit aims to evaluate the current housing policies and strategic
direction as well as lay the foundation for a new strategic direction in the
creation of sustainable human settlements in the province.
Furthermore, the summit will create a platform for discussions on the latest
models in housing development and to draw lessons (both negative and positive)
from previous strategies applied in Gauteng and internationally.
The summit will bring speakers from both national and provincial housing
departments, local government officials, the private sector (banking sector and
the construction institutions), individual/independent housing practitioners,
educational and research institutions, as well as non-government organisations
to make presentations on various topics.
