15 March 2009
In an attempt to attract and retain health professionals, the Gauteng
Department of Health will host career expo on 16 to 18 March 2008.
The expo aims to create awareness amongst youth of the different career
options in the health sector as well as available funding options e.g.
bursaries and learnerships.
It also presents an important opportunity to inform learners and school
leavers of various career opportunities in the health sector. This also
contributes directly to the strategic direction of government of reducing
unemployment and poverty in the country.
Universities have been invited to participate to provide information
regarding the courses offered in health sciences, including the costs involved
and funding options.
