G Fraser-Moleketi to attend seminar on political administrative
complexities, 11 – 12 Apr

Minister Fraser-Moleketi off to Botswana for a seminar on
political administrative complexities

6 April 2006

Public Service and Administration Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi will
take part in a two-day seminar on ‘Managing the Political Administrative
Interface: A Partnership for Public Service’ on 11 and 12 April 2006 in
Gaborone, Botswana.

The seminar is organised by the Centre of Specialisation in Public
Administration and Management (CESPAM) and the Commonwealth Association for
Public Administration and Management (CAPAM).

This seminar will bring together Ministers and permanent secretaries from
central government and line ministries in Southern African Developing Community
(SADC) and commonwealth countries to discuss how they can strengthen their
working relationships to effectively manage the political administrative
interface.

Presentations and discussions will provide insights into the issues and
challenges associated with the various models for managing the political
administrative interface and suggest how these can be managed, particularly in
relation to SADC countries.

Among other things the seminar will seek to enhance the understanding of the
political and administrative interface and the roles and responsibilities of
elected and appointed officials to identify issues, constraints and problems
faced by politicians and civil servants in working together and serving the
public.
