Free State Treasury Departmentâs officials and their dependants will benefit
from the introduction of the new Employee Wellness Programme.
On Thursday, 23 and Friday, 24 April 2009, behavioural risk management
assessment will be conducted to all employees and senior managers.
The initiative, which is the brainchild of the newly appointed Chief
Executive Officer (CEO), Dr M Eugene Mokeyane seeks to promote a healthy and
productive workforce.
The programme will offer each employee and their close next of kin access to
the following services:
* 24 hours a day telephonic counselling with qualified psychologist
* up to six sessions of face to face counselling with a psychologist in the
area they live
* life management, legal and financial telephonic guidance
* access to the electronic e-care service that provides a wealth of health and
wellness related information.
Mokeyane, who has just more than 80 days as the CEO of the department, said
the programme will go a long way in helping the employees to deal with their
personal problems which adversely affect their performance in the
workplace.
