Gauteng Community Safety honours sign language interpreter
graduates

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety will honour sign language
interpreters who have graduated from a sign language training course. The joint
project between the Department, South African Police Service (SAPS) and Rhema
Ministries was initiated to ensure that police services are accessible to all
people, including those with disabilities. Twenty-five volunteers and members
of the South African Police Service, currently deployed at various police
stations across the province, will be honoured for successfully completing the
course.

The graduation will be attended by the Gauteng MEC for Community Safety,
Firoz Cachalia, Provincial Commissioner, Perumal Naidoo, and Rhema Ministries,
Pastor, Joe McDermott, and Reverend Ron Steele.
