The MEC for Community Safety in Gauteng, Mr Firoz Cachalia. reacted with
anger and sadness to the news of the death of Makgabo Matlala. Makgabo is the
granddaughter of the Judge President of Transvaal, Judge Bernad Ngoepe. She was
found dead today after hours of search by both the police and the
community.
"I am deeply affected by this tragedy and share the grief of the family,â
the MEC said. He further said that Makgabo will leave in his heart and mind
alongside all other children of our society who continue to be brutalised by
crime. The MEC will visit the family today to personally express his
condolences.
