The Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation will tomorrow hold a meeting with the senior management and the Board of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).

During the Budget Review and Recommendations Report (BRRR) process, the Committee informed the NYDA that it would only support a request for additional funding if the NYDA presented a workable turnaround strategy. Tomorrow’s meeting is to provide an opportunity for the NYDA to brief the Committee on that turnaround strategy.   

The Committee views the turnaround strategy as important in light of the high unemployment rate among the youth of this country and because of the critical role the NYDA must play in resolving the problem of youth unemployment.
