Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa to open Zamdela Police Station, Heidedal 10111 Centre and engage with communities

The Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa will embark on a 4-day programme which includes opening of police stations and interactions with communities, to strengthen police-community cooperation in the fight against crime.

As part of our community-policing philosophy, we directly interact with different communities, business formations, civic organisations, including interfaith organisations to mobilise and ensure that collectively, we defeat the scourge of crime.

This week, the Minister will officially open the Zamdela Police Station, a South African Police Service (SAPS) 10111 Centre and host community participation programmes in the Free State and Eastern Cape provinces respectively.

He will also attend and address the community at a prayer meeting in the Northern Cape aimed at ending police killings, gang violence that afflicts children and youth, abuse of women, children and the elderly as well as an end of crime in general.

Minister Mthethwa will be joined by various provincial MECs responsible for community safety, SAPS Provincial Commissioners and their Senior Management teams, various SAPS Cluster Commanders as well as Station Commanders. Members of the media are invited as follows:
