address backlogs relating to injury on duty, leave gratuities, second and third
notches ,rural allowances, job evaluation, scarce skills allowances, job
evaluations, overtime and other human resource related issues.
The Bhisho head office has been allocated R80 million, R100 million to Port

community health centres and clinics have been allocated R120 million.
This is expected to boost the morale of employees who have been awaiting
their benefits owed to them by the department. Exâemployees who are still owed
by the department are urged to come forward so that their files can be traced.
Affected retirees and exâemployees of the department can direct their queries
to (040) 609 3670 or info@ecdoh.gov.za.
HR practitioners from Bhisho have been dispatched to various hospitals to
trace these files. Meanwhile an additional R52 million has been set aside for
recruitment of health professionals and other categories. Hospitals have been
asked to forward their vacancy rates to Bhisho. This exercise will assist the
province in retaining and recruiting more skills to the department.
