Eastern Cape Health bids farewell to Njaba

Chris Hani District bids farewell to Mrs Njaba

28 April 2009

The Komani Hospital Recreation Hall was filled with mixed emotions on 15
April 2009 as the Chris Hani Health District bade Mrs Nonkululeko Njaba
farewell and a happy birthday in advance as she celebrates it the same
month.

Mrs Nombeko Kizza Programmes Manager for the Chris Hani District described
Manjaba as she’s affectionately known as mentor, achiever and a perfectionist.
“She is a firm but fair disciplinarian” said Kizza.

General Manager District Services Mrs Z Z Macingwane said Mrs Njaba left her
family for the maximum benefit of the community, sacrificing her time for Chris
Hani and the Department of Health. “The seeds of excellence that you have
planted in this district I hope will blossom,” concluded Macingwane. At the
National Health Council in November 2008 Chris Hani was among the best
performing districts labelled blue on the national map.

In replying Manjaba said, “I don’t know whether to be happy or sad, I feel
like there is still a lot that I need to do. I came here knowing that there are
challenges but I told myself that I will try and rise above them. As human
beings we have strengths and weaknesses that we need to acknowledge, I am
appealing to you to maintain functional integration as it is a pillar of
strength,” concluded Mrs Njaba Luthando Nqumkana
