The Northern Cape Health Department has acquired state of the art equipment
which is being fitted into ambulances for the use of patients. The
sophisticated device records the fingerprints of patients and retrieves their
medical records.
In many cases paramedics need medical records of patients who may not be in
a position to give such information due to the seriousness of their condition
at the time. This information is vital in saving lives and through the use of
this device such information can be retrieved through the patientâs
fingerprints.
Premier Dipuo Peters, who is recovering at home following an abdominal
surgery recently, will be the first Northern Cape citizen to have her
fingerprints saved on the device.
Members of the media are invited to witness the operation of this equipment
