Communications Authority to convene Internet Solutions hearing, 29

Internet Solutions to respond to charges filed by Independent
Communications Authority (ICASA)

Johannesburg - Internet Solutions (Pty) Ltd will appear before the
Complaints and Compliance Committee (CCC) of Independent Communications
Authority (ICASA) for allegedly using equipment that has not been type approved
for their wireless network in the 24 GHz IMS frequency band. The use of this
equipment is a contravention in terms of the Electronic Communications Act
(ECA) No 36 of 2005 which states that:

"No person may use, supply, sell, offer for sale or lease or hire any type
of electronic communications equipment or electronic communications facility,
including radio apparatus, used or to be used in connection with the provisions
of electronic communications, unless such equipment, electronic communications
facility or radio apparatus has been type approved by the authority."

The hearings will take place as follows:
