The Minister for Justice and Constitutional Development, Ms BS Mabandla,
will be hosting a charity golf challenge which has already risen more than R220
000 from corporate sponsorship.
The Justice 2007 Four-ball Golf Challenge will be held at Zwartkops Country
Club, Pretoria, on Friday, 5 October 2007 at 10h00.
The response from corporate business has been very positive and all sponsors
have been most generous, ensuring a most enjoyable and memorable day for all
participants. Most important, however, is the money generated for charity,
which will aid abused women and children. Minister Mabandla will donate the
proceeds from the golf day to a charity or non-government organisations of her
choice during the 16 Days of No Violence against Women and Children Campaign
later this year.
At least 120 golfers or 30 four-balls will take part in the Golf Challenge.
Minister Mabandla will present prizes to the players during dinner, starting at
18:30 at the Zwartkops Country Club.
The department is thankful to all sponsors who opened not only their hearts,
but their wallets to assist in a worthy cause and ensuring the success of the
day.
Media is invited to the event as well as dinner, but needs to reserve space
by 10h00 on 4 October 2007.
