KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Bheki Cele
will tomorrow, 24 August 2006, attend the memorial service of eleven victims
killed in a gruesome road crash involving a minibus taxi and a stationary bus
on Saturday, 19 August 2006.
The memorial service will be held at Gandhi Grounds, at Inanda Township, at
9am on Thursday, 24 August 2006. Initial reports have revealed that the
accident occurred at night when the minibus taxi drove into the back of a
stationary bus, killing 11 people instantly. The taxi was carrying 15
passengers on board travelling from Bamshela, Applesbosch, to Inanda in Durban.
Transport Chief Executive Officer, Dr Kwazi Mbanjwa, and members of the
Transport Portfolio Committee will also attend the memorial service.
