Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa to officially open Klipgat and Hebron Police Stations and launch Safer Festive Season campaign in North West

The Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa, MP will give a keynote address and officially open the Klipgat and Hebron Police Stations in the North West tomorrow. The building of new police stations is part of the Ministry’s strategy of effectively dealing with crime in the country, particularly in remote areas where there were previously no police stations.

He will also officially launch the safer festive season Operation Duty Calls campaign in the province. The North West province currently has a drastic backlog of police stations to bring services nearer to its communities. In the last twelve months only three police stations could be timeously completed; so that the quality of infrastructure could be upgraded and consequently services improved.

The Minister will be joined by the North West MEC of Human Settlements, Public Safety & Liaison, Ms Desbo Mohono, the Acting National Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, senior management of SAPS, local Mayor, CPF representatives, youth formations and the broader communities.

The event will take place as follows:

  • Klipgat Police Station, Klipgat
    Friday, 18 November at 9h30
  • Hebron Police Station, Hebron
    Friday, 18 November 12h30
