On Thursday, 14 July 2011, Dr Ivan Meyer, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport in the Western Cape, will have breakfast with the participants from the Western Cape who took part in the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Youth Championships.
The World Championships, which took place in Lille, France, from 6 to 10 July 2011, saw a number of South African youth athletes excel. Among them are Western Cape stars, Tiaan Mouton, Jan-Louw Kotze and Morne Moolman, who are ranked World Number One in their respective fields and age categories.
Minister Meyer wants the rest of the Western Cape's youth to see what is possible when you set goals and apply yourself, and what can be achieved through excellence and dedication.
