Minister Alan Winde to open World Tourism Month

On Thursday, 1 September 2011 Western Cape Minister of Tourism, Alan Winde, will officially open World Tourism Month.

To mark the occasion, Minister Winde will be participating in a study to measure the travelling time between key hotels in the city and their nearest MyCiTi bus stops. The information gathered from this exercise will be used in tourism marketing material and will enhance the services offered by Cape Town as a business and leisure tourism destination.

Following the bus trip, Minister Winde will brief the media on the results and speak on the importance of the tourism industry for the Western Cape.
