On Wednesday, 6 April 2011, Dr Ivan Meyer, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport in the Western Cape will be visiting the District Six Museum, where he will also discuss the importance of the role of museums in communities.
The museum chronicles the history of the District Six area during the apartheid era, the forced removals of the residents, the role of sport in District Six and serves to preserve the heritage of the community.
