The Western Cape MEC of Health, Mr Theuns Botha, will accept the handover of the structures built and sponsored by the non-governmental organisation (NGO), ANOVA Health. These temporary structures will be used for the counselling, testing and treatment of Infectious diseases such as HIV and TB.
The structures, which are situated on the clinic's grounds, are designed to allow for social interaction between patients, thus providing opportunities for patients to share their stories with each other and form supportive environments, assisting with issues such as compliance and the stigma of infectious diseases.
The Department of Health supports this project through medical and personnel support.
