Mdladlana to host top Zimbabwean Social Indaba

Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana will on Monday, 20 July, host high level talks between Zimbabwean government, business and labour officials at the department's Pretoria headquarters.

The Zimbabwean delegation, comprising three Cabinet ministers, senior government officials, as well as business and labour representatives (the latter from the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions), will be led by Zimbabwe's Labour and Social Services Minister Paurina Mpariwa.

The gathering is sponsored and funded by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) as part of its undertaking to help strengthen Zimbabwe's social dialogue process and to assisting in that country's legislative reform. Zimbabwe aims to reform its Tripartite Negotiating Forum and establish an institutionalised body in the form of South Africa's National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) that would promote and oblige people to social dialogue arrangements. The meeting is scheduled for 10h00.
