Dozens of National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) stakeholders from business, labour, government and community are to converge in Tzaneen, Limpopo on Tuesday, 5 October 2010 for the historic launch of Roving Safety Representative (RSR) by Labour Minister, Membathisi Mdladlana.
Amongst the dignitaries invited are the Premier of the Limpopo province Honourable Cassell Mathale, the Executive Mayor of Mopani district Councillor LJ Matlou, Mayor of Greater Tzaneen municipality Councillor, OJ Mushwana and others.
The event, scheduled to take place at the Karibu Leisure Resort, will see the minister launching the Roving Safety Representatives, green cars and inspectors' uniforms.
The Roving Safety Representatives is a project piloted by the department with an aim of increasing awareness with regards to the safety at work aspects at all workstation.
After the launch by the minister, the project will be dispersed to other areas countrywide. The minister will also use the opportunity to launch the soon to be conspicuous departmental green cars and inspectors' uniforms, which will be used to create visibility of the departmental inspectorate during their inspections.
The event will start at 08h00 and will see the minister having a word with the farm workers at Karibu Leisure lodge and thereafter; accompanied by the roving safety representatives, the minister will pay a stern visit at one of the local farms (Letaba Estate), as part of his programme.
