K Motlanthe to open new schools in Limpopo, 16 to 17 Apr

President Kgalema Motlanthe to officially open brand new modern
state of the art schools in Limpopo

13 April 2009

Pursuant to education being declared a national priority, Limpopo has
embarked on a massive education infrastructure programme. Part of this
programme includes the building of what we impoverished areas. The new state of
the art schools will make a big difference and drive up standards in teaching
and learning especially in the field of maths, science and technology. The use
of computer laboratories as a tool to improve learning and teaching will create
a wonderful first class academic environment. These schools, which are equipped
with modern library facilities, will increase the literacy levels and transform
the communities and the entire social structure.

These new schools are designed to have the following features:
* Computer centre
* Science laboratory
* Biology laboratory
* Home Economics centres (High school only)
* Nutrition centre (In appropriate communities only)
* Fully equipped admin block
* Book library
* Toy library (Primary Schools only)
* One thousand capacity school hall
* State of the art modern classrooms.

All these facilities were previously unknown in black schools.

Currently 12 of these schools are under construction and five of them will
be completed and ready for occupation in April this year. We encourage our
communities, learners, teachers and the community at large to protect these
precious assets against vandalism.

Due to the uniqueness and success of this massive infrastructure programme,

personally officiate in the grand opening of these schools.
