On Wednesday, 12 May 2010, International Nurses Day will be celebrated worldwide on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. This year marks the 100th birthday anniversary of Florence Nightingale.
The Western Cape Department of Health commemorates this important day and will honour the committed and excellent work done by nurses at public health facilities, through hosting an event to celebrate International Nurses Day at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town.
This year's theme for International Nurses Day is:
* Delivering Quality, Serving Communities
* Nurses leading Chronic Care
On International Nurses Day, we recognise the contribution nurses make to quality health care in the Western Cape.
