Human Settlements Minister Connie September to hand over two bursaries at Careers Expo in Athlone

National Human Settlements Minister Connie September and Member of Parliament for Ward 48 and 49 Athlone, Western Cape, is hosting a two day Careers Expo in conjunction with Mango Airlines for learners in the greater Athlone area. The Expo is part of our commitment as Human Settlements to look at the full range of activities needed for the development of a community.

The Expo will be held on Wednesday and Thursday 26 and 27 March at Ned Doman High School in St Athan’s Rd opposite one of the well-known struggle sites, the St Athans Street mosque, between 9h00 and 16h00.

Learners from Athlone schools will join learners from Mitchells Plain and Steenberg in having an opportunity to experience career choices available to them. For the first time Grade 7 learners will be welcomed to the Expo.

Some of the learners are from schools that were threatened by closure recently. Minister September will be joined by Ministers and Deputy Ministers from various departments.
