The United Nations and the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), the United Nations Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB), in partnership with the Department of Water Affairs, the Western Cape Provincial Government and the City of Cape Town, will host the United Nations (UN) World Water Day 2011 in Cape Town from 20 to 22 March 2011 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
The theme for World Water Day 2011 is 'Water and Urbanisation', in recognition of how rapid urbanisation across the world is adding more pressure on our ability to provide adequate water and sanitation services. The focus for the event will be 'Water for Cities. Responding to the urban challenge.’

Representatives of the United Nations, African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), Department of Water Affairs, the Western Cape Provincial Government and the City of Cape Town will be there to present and respond to your questions. This briefing is being held to provide time for preparation ahead of World Water Day.
