Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga will be announcing Matric results on 2 January 2013, but individual results for learners will be available on 3 January 2013.
Candidates will be able to view their results at schools/exam centres or in major newspapers. They will also be able to view their results on the Department of Basic Education website from 3 January 2013 or via the SABC news-on-phone service Newsbreak.
Matriculants and their families can use the Newsbreak automated sms and voice results services to obtain their final exam results as soon as it is released by the Independent Examination Board (IEB) on 29 December and by the Basic Education Department on 3 January 2013.
All they have to do is to pre-register via SMS and detailed results will be sent back to them on the day of release.
Students can immediately start sending the word DBE or IEB, followed by their ID number to 35935, at R3 per sms. They will receive a return SMS asking for an exam number, for them to receive detailed results.
They can also call 082 152 on the day the results are released, select option 6, punch in their ID and exam numbers and the results will be relayed.
