The Minister in The Presidency, Dr Essop Pahad, made an announcement on the
appointment by the President of the following members of National Youth
Commission:
a) Ms Nobulumko Nkondlo - Chairperson
b) Ms Vuyiswa Tulelo - Deputy Chairperson
c) Mr Mothupi Modiba - Commissioner
d) Mr Olwethu Siphuka - Commissioner
e) Mr Elrico van Rooyen - Commissioner
The above appointments have been made in accordance with section four of
National Youth Commission Act (No 19 of 1996 as amended) with effect from 1
July 2006 for a period of three years. The newly appointed member of the
commission will be required to enter into a performance agreement with the
Minister in the Presidency within 30 days of their appointment on 1 July 2006.
The National Youth Commission (NYC) is a delegated responsibility to the
Minister in the Presidency by the President.
These agreements will be based on and arrived at in accordance with the
mandate of the NYC as detailed in the NYC Act.
