The Transport (Co-ordination) Act 44 of 1948 intends:
- to provide for the establishment of a National Transport Commission and an Advisory Committee on roads, and to define the functions of the said commission and committee;
- to abolish the Civil Aviation Council established under the Aviation Act, 1923 [repealed], the Central Road Transportation Board established under the Motor Carrier Transportation Act, 1930 [repealed], and the National Road Board established under the National Roads Act, 1935 [repealed];
- to amend the said Acts; and
- to provide for other incidental matters.
