Transfer Duty Amendment Act, 1951 (No. 59 of 1951)

Act

to consolidate and amend the laws relating to transfer duty.

(Assented to 27th June, 1951.)

Be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate and the House of Assembly of the Union of South Africa, as follows:-

Amendment of section 2 of Act 40 of 1949.

1. Section two of the Transfer Duty Act, 1949, is hereby amended by the substitution for the words "two pounds" of the words "three pounds".

Commencement of amendment.

2. The amendment effected by section one shall be deemed to have come into operation on the twenty-second day of March, 1951, and shall apply in respect of any acquisition of property or any renunciation of an interest in or restriction upon the use or disposal of property on or after that date.

Short title.

3. This Act shall be called the Transfer Duty Amendment Act, 1951.
