69 of 1996
The Special Pensions Act 69 of 1996 intends:
- to give effect to section 189 of the Constitution;
- to provide for special pensions to be paid to persons who made sacrifices or served the public interest in the cause of establishing a democratic constitutional order;
- to prescribe rules for determining the persons who are entitled to receive those pensions;
- to establish a Special Pensions Board and a Special Pensions Review Board; and
- to provide for related matters.
