Act
- to amend the Road Transportation Act, 1977, so as to limit the concession in respect of the conveyance of exempted goods; and
- to provide for incidental matters.

BE IT ENACTED by the State President and the House of Assembly of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-
Amendment of section 1 of Act 74 of 1977, as amended by section 1 of Act 93 of 1979 and section 1 of Act 91 of 1980.
1. Section 1 of the Road Transportation Act, 1977, is hereby amended by the substitution for paragraph (z) of subsection (2) of the following paragraph:
"(z) the conveyance [by means of a motor vehicle] of exempted goods, by means of a motor vehicle-
(i) which is registered in the Republic under the law governing the registration of motor vehicles in force at that place;
(ii) whose owner is domiciled within the Republic; and
(iii) which is identified in the manner prescribed by regulation,
by any person who is domiciled in the Republic, or any company registered in the Republic, actively carrying on business from a place situated in the Republic:".
Short title.
2. This Act shall be called the Rmid Transportation Amendment Act, 1981.
