The Road Accident Fund Commission Act 71 of 1998 intends:
- to provide for the establishment of a commission of inquiry to inquire into, and to make recommendations regarding, a system for the payment of compensation or benefits, or a combination of compensation and benefits, in the event of the injury or death of persons in road accidents; and
- to provide for incidental matters.
